Avoid 8 Page Monster CV’s

I recently was sent a 2 page IT CV and this is one of the clearest that I have seen in quite a while. There was also a five page CV that was perfectly acceptable as it was full of information that confirmed that the person was right for the role.

However, one really noticeable factor is “CV overload fatigue”.  When you have seen a very small number, you stop reading them properly and start to skim.

It’s fair to say that a reviewer or employer probably never fully reads a CV, particular when the fatigue sets in. Much more weight and interest goes into the interview and relating a candidates answers to you situation.

The bottom line is to keep it as short as sensible, but not to worry to much about getting it to bang on 2 pages, but no 8 page monsters please!
